For my audio story, I decided to create a narration story in which I interviewed a few of my close friends on whether they get home sick or not. This narration relates to my course topic because it revolves around living away from home and moving away from my family for college.
My design process was pretty simple and something that I thought of completely on my own. I did not do any prior research when deciding what to do, I just sort of came up with it on my own. I knew that I wanted to interview people on whether they get homesick living away from their families or not because it went really well with my course topic, so all that was left to do was come up with three or four questions to ask them. I started off pretty simple by asking my friends “Do you get homesick living away from your family?” The next question I asked was “How often do you get to visit home?” Finally, the last question I asked was “Do you wish you were able to go home and see your family more often?” I collected the audio footage I needed, put it into audition and then edited the footage from there.
I used the audio recording on my iPhone to gather my footage before putting it into audition. The only tools I used in Audition was the razor tool to trim out some long pauses and unnecessary things that did not need to be heard. I tried to add music, but it sounded a little overwhelming so I came to the conclusion that I was going to just leave the clip as it is. One thing I did change from my draft was how loud my voice was over everyone else’s. I just lowered it so it would be equal with the rest of the volume. I actually did not come across any problems using Audition; everything was pretty self-explanatory.
